Why rigs and racks matter

Riot MRR 75 Range – fully modular racks built for heavy lifting

The Riot MRR 75 range forms the core of Strength Shop’s high‑end rack systems. These racks use 75 × 75 mm steel uprights with 3 mm wall thickness and a black powder‑coated finish to ensure long‑term durability. Each upright has 17 mm diameter holes and laser‑cut numbering on both the front and back, with 25 mm “Westside” hole spacing (holes 7 – 36 on the 2.1 m and 2.3 m uprights), allowing a granular setup for bench and squat and 50 mm spacing elsewhere. The static load rating is tested to 500 kg, meaning these racks can handle the heaviest powerlifting sessions. M16 nuts and bolts are included and the manufacturer recommends bolting the rack to the floor or adding small feet to the front for safe use. Three heights are offered—1800 mm (Garage), 2100 mm (Standard) and 2300 mm (Tall)—and every variant uses a 1285 mm × 1285 mm footprint. The sturdy construction, fine hole spacing and numbering make setup quick and precise, whether for squats, bench pressing or overhead work.

Models in the Riot MRR 75 range

Standard (Square) racks: The standard power racks use four uprights and create a square footprint of 1285 × 1285 mm. They come with by default with a straight pull‑up bar, four uprights, four crossmembers, a branded or nameplate crossmember, safeties and J‑hooks. These racks deliver a “full cage” feel with generous internal space for lifting and options to add box-safeties or strap systems. They are our most sold model in the modular range, and can be expanded into double racks, even connected to rig sections or fitted with cable systems. 

Compact racks: Compact racks share the same uprights but use shorter crossmembers to reduce the footprint, making them better suited to tight home gyms or corners where every centimetre counts. They maintain the 500 kg rating and Westside spacing, so there is no compromise on capability. For lifters who want a full‑height cage but need a smaller footprint, the compact variant is an ideal compromise.

Half racks and standard half racks: The Riot MRR half‑rack variants retain the 75 × 75 mm uprights and Westside spacing. Half racks are the perfect solution for lifters who need a stable, safe, and versatile training station in limited spaces. 

Weight storage extensions: Storage attachments added onto the rear uprights and can provide space for storage pins for Olympic plates, helping to organise your training area and add storage options. These extensions are part of the wider MRR add‑on ecosystem: when you’re ready to upgrade, you can add storage or extra crossmembers to convert a standard rack into a double rack or rig module. Using these add‑ons allows you to create a customised training hub that evolves with your needs.

Training versatility and aesthetics

The Riot MRR racks are designed to reshape training spaces. Because requirements change—whether through increased strength, new exercises or limited room—Strength Shop built the MRR series to grow alongside you. You can begin with a standard rack and later expand by adding storage solutions, bridging a double rack or connecting the uprights to rig sections. This modular approach suits small home gyms as well as professional facilities. The racks feature a minimalist, industrial aesthetic with clean lines and durable black powder coating; assembly is straightforward thanks to numbered holes and provided instructions. The manufacturer notes that for safe use, the rack should be bolted into the floor or fitted with small front feet to prevent tipping.

Original MRR 60 Range – economical modular racks for home gyms

Strength Shop’s Original MRR 60 range provides a more budget‑friendly modular system while retaining many of the design principles of the Riot line. These racks use 60 × 60 mm steel uprights with a 2 mm wall thickness, finished in black powder coat. The static load rating is 350 kg, which comfortably supports serious home training. Holes measure 17 mm and are spaced at 50 mm intervals throughout the uprights. Heights of 1800 mm (Garage) and 2100 mm (Standard) are offered, and both share a compact footprint of 1255 mm × 1255 mm. Like the Riot range, the Original MRR racks feature numbering on both sides of the uprights and require floor anchoring or small feet for safe use.

Models in the Original MRR 60 range

Standard (Square) racks: The standard Original MRR racks mirror the Riot range with four uprights forming a square base. They come with a pull‑up bar m safeties, and bar holders, and they support modular add‑ons such as dip attachments, landmine attachments or storage pins. While the uprights are narrower and lighter, they still deliver a stable platform for squats, presses and pulls, making them suitable for most home gyms.

Compact racks: Compact versions use shorter crossmembers to shrink the rack’s footprint. This makes them ideal for tight spaces like garage gyms or spare rooms. They retain the 60 × 60 mm uprights, 350 kg capacity and 50 mm hole spacing but give up some interior depth, so larger accessories such as lat‑pulldown attachments may not fit as comfortably. For lifters prioritising space efficiency over maximum interior room, the compact model offers a balanced solution.

Half racks: The Original MRR half racks  offer a space saving solution. Extended base feet provide stability, and safety spotter arms can be fitted for secure squats and bench presses. As with the Riot series, the half rack is a practical choice for lifters who want a sturdy yet space‑efficient station.

Weight storage extensions: To keep weights tidy and add stability, the Original MRR range offers plate‑storage extensions that bolt to the uprights. These storage extensions use the same 60 × 60 mm steel and allow multiple plates to be stored within the rack footprint. They are part of the modular accessory ecosystem and can be added at any time as your training equipment grows.

Practicality and assembly

Original MRR racks provide an economical yet refined option for home gyms. Their modular design allows you to start with a basic rack and expand with attachments like dip attachments, landmines, cable systems or plate storage. The instructions emphasise bolting the rack to the floor or adding small stabilising feet for safe use. Thanks to the lighter uprights, these racks are easier to move and assemble than the Riot models, making them appealing to lifters building their first serious home gym.

Riot Rig MRR – wall‑mounted and freestanding modular rigs

For larger training spaces or group training, the Riot Rig MRR system extends modularity beyond single racks. These rigs use the same 75 × 75 mm, 3 mm‑thick steel uprights as the Riot racks and employ Westside hole spacing combined with 50 mm standard spacing. Uprights have 17 mm holes and are numbered for ease of adjustment. Each upright is supported by 200 × 200 × 8 mm gusseted base plates with offset brackets that bolt securely to the floor. The rigs come in single, double and triple cube configurations, with the single cube measuring roughly 2.5 m high, 1.35 m wide and 1.21 m deep, and the double and triple cubes extending to 4.25 m and 7 m widths respectively. But can be expanded to every setup in width and height.

Because these rigs use the same uprights as the Riot racks, some components, such as J‑hooks or safeties, are interchangeable, although hole sizes must match specific attachments.

Riot Wall‑Mounted Foldable Rack – space‑saving strength for home gyms

Where floor space is at a premium, Strength Shop’s Riot Wall‑Mounted Foldable Rack offers a clever solution. This rack uses 75 × 75 mm uprights with 3 mm wall thickness and folds flat against the wall when not in use. In the open position, it extends approximately 61 cm from the wall, providing ample room for squats and bench presses; folded, it sits nearly flush and frees the entire floor area. Despite its collapsible design, it supports up to 400 kg on the bar hooks and 200 kg on the pull‑up bar. The pull‑up bar spans 107 cm and folds in with the uprights for storage. J‑hooks are height adjustable, and optional safety arms or dip horns can be attached to the 26 mm holes along the uprights. The rack must be anchored to a solid wall (concrete or brick) and comes with floor bolts; wall anchors must be sourced separately. For small home gyms or garage setups, this foldable rack delivers heavy‑duty performance without permanently occupying space.
